The UMass Amherst Alumni Association is seeking passionate, service-oriented alumni willing to commit their time and expertise to engage alumni and students as a member of our Board of Directors.  

We are committed to creating a nominee pool that represents the diversity of our alumni family and actively strive to achieve inclusivity in terms of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class year, past or present military service, type of degree, geography, profession and UMass affiliation.

Our Board members work to engage alumni and students through a variety of outreach, programming, advocacy and volunteer opportunities, and help develop strategies to advance UMass and important initiatives such as:
  • Alumni Networks and professional development opportunities
  • Student scholarships and mentoring activities
  • Homecoming and Alumni Weekend
  • The UMass License Plate
  • UMass Rising - the campaign for UMass
In accepting a seat on the Board, directors pledge to actively participate as alumni leaders, fulfill all board member responsibilities, and adhere to the Volunteer Code of Conduct. Through their service, our directors are able to advance the interests of fellow alumni, support current students, contribute their expertise and expand their own professional networks, while giving back to their alma mater.
